Things to keep in mind when choosing a proper photo
- I always send out a digital example to you for free before actually producing the order.
- Because of this, please make sure to use your order contains information that I can use to reach you quickly when the example is ready!
- Well-lit photos with good contrast work best
- Make sure the photo is as high-resolution as possible.
That way as many details as possible get preserved - The effect of lithophanes relies on proper lighting to achieve the best result
Using natural sunlight or a 'cold' color LED light on the back helps in my experience. - And most importantly: each photo is different, so results may vary.
Order your very own lithophane: an ancient art technique used in a modern form! Using different kinds of depths in the material and a light, you can create 'light photos', which is what lithophane roughly translates to. You can read more about them in my blogpost!
The modern version that I offer also add the option of doing a full color version, Just choose your size below and upload the photo that you want to use. The photos of this product give examples of the used photo and the video shows the end result with proper lighting.
Note: the measurements listed are excluding the small border I add around the lithophane. I do this to add some structural integrity, so the finished product ends up a little bigger than what you order
