✦ Stardust Finish

Every Level Ball in this listing arrives as a Stardust Finish — fully printed in the Level Ball's authentic colours (bright yellow top, bold red V-motif, black accents, and a clean white lower half) and assembled by hand, ready to display straight out of the box. No building, no guesswork — just unbox and find it a good home.

✦ Want to build it yourself?

Prefer the hands-on experience? I also offer a Builder's Kit option for this piece — all parts printed in white Bambu Lab PLA, smoothed and prepped for you to assemble and paint your way. Just reach out via Instagram or email and we'll sort it out!

✦ Trivia

A Ball of Advantage

Introduced in Generation II, the Level Ball boosts catch rates when your Pokémon's level is higher than the wild target. In the original Gold, Silver, and Crystal however, a programming bug caused the game to check a Pokémon's internal index number instead of its level — meaning certain species always got the highest bonus while others didn't benefit at all. The issue was quietly fixed in later generations.

Anime Spotlight

In the Johto arc, Kurt is shown hand-crafting Apricorn Balls including the Level Ball. While it doesn't feature heavily in battles onscreen, its unique mechanic has made it a favourite among fans who enjoy roleplaying as resourceful, tactical Trainers.

Where to Find It in Modern Games

The Level Ball has appeared across multiple generations — craftable from Red Apricorns in HeartGold & SoulSilver, obtainable via Festival Plaza in Sun & Moon, and available through Cram-o-Matic recipes in Sword & Shield's Isle of Armor expansion. Its catch rate modifier remains tied to level comparisons, making it one of the most tactical Apricorn Balls in the series.

Design Origins

The Level Ball's striking yellow top with red V-motif, black accents, and white lower half symbolises the concept of level advantage. Its origins trace back to the Red Apricorn — one of the traditional materials used by Kurt to craft specialty Poké Balls in Johto.
